William A. Gildea, Co-Founder & Managing Member

William Gildea is the Co-Founder & Managing Member of TerraSphere and Founder and President of ECAP, a boutique investment firm committed to transforming environmental concerns into environmental and business opportunities. He is recognized as a pioneer in the field of environmental insurance and has a strong track record of successfully advancing environmental businesses and projects through effective finance and investment strategies.  Before founding ECAP, Bill held senior positions at Connecticut Bank & Trust and Phoenix Investment Counsel.  He was also a Founder and Managing Director of Environmental Warranty, where he developed one of the first environmental insurance products for a capital markets specialty lender.  Bill holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

David A. Flannery, VP Sales, Marketing and Operations

David Flannery most recently held the position of Vice President of Marketing for Converted Organics Inc., where he was responsible for sales and marketing of the company’s organic fertilizer product lines into the agriculture, professional turf and consumer markets.  Prior to joining Converted Organics Inc., David was Vice President and General Manager at Clean Harbors Inc., one of the leading environmental service providers in North America. David has also consulted to a number of clean technology and environmental products companies in the area of strategic and tactical market planning. David earned an M.B.A. and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University and a B.A. degree from Holy Cross College.

Shelli Barry, Project Manager/Office Manager

Shelli Barry has been involved with TerraSphere since its formation in 2003. She has more than 14 years of experience coordinating the office functions of small businesses including Converted Organics Inc. and ECAP, LLC.  Shelli joined ECAP in 1998, when it was a start-up real estate advisory services company associated with the national environmental engineering firm ERM New England, Inc. Ms. Barry holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Kristen Brandt, Marketing Manager

Kristen Brandt started working for Converted Organics in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant until she moved into her current role as Marketing Manager in late 2009. Kristen brings over 5 years of administrative, sales, and marketing experience to TerraSphere Systems. Before joining Converted Organics and TerraSphere Systems, Kristen studied Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and spent 2 years working on an organic farm both in the field and in a sales and marketing role. Kristen holds a BS with a concentration in Sustainable Development from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
