Management Team

William A. Gildea

Mr. Gildea is Director of Project Development for TerraSphere Systems, LLC and Founder and President of ECAP, LLC, a boutique investment firm committed to transforming environmental concerns into environmental and business opportunities. One such success story was the development of Converted Organics Inc., a now publicly traded company that converts food waste to organic fertilizer. Mr. Gildea serves on the Board of Directors and remains a consultant to the company.

Mr. Gildea has more than 17 years of experience in finance, development, investment and insurance for environmentally impacted, mainly light industrial and manufacturing properties. Prior to founding ECAP, he held positions at Connecticut Bank and Trust and Phoenix Investment Counsel. Mr. Gildea was also a founder and Managing Director of Environmental Warranty, an environmental insurance firm, where he was responsible for client management and marketing.

His experience includes development of an environmental insurance product for a capital markets specialty lender, financing contaminated property, and the development of environmentally impacted property. Mr. Gildea served as secretary/treasurer of the National Brownfield Association from its inception in 1999 until March of 2003. Mr. Gildea holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Nicholas G. Brusatore

For more than 20 years, Mr. Brusatore has been designing, engineering and manufacturing cost-effective products to solve problems for his customers and help them realize market opportunities.

He has developed products for several world-renowned companies, in both Canada and the United States, and enjoys a strong reputation throughout the industry. In addition to apprenticing under many Master Tradesmen, Mr. Brusatore attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he studied the implementation of ISO 9002 Systems for quality control, vibration analysis, metallurgy, and manufacturing methods to produce parts to required specifications.

John P. Weigold

Mr. Weigold has over thirteen years of experience that includes the development of multiple new start-up businesses and senior positions in the waste management/recycling and financial services industries.

Mr. Weigold has extensive experience in contract and labor negotiations, client account management, strategic business plan development and implementation, and assembling and leading cross-functional teams. Mr. Weigold holds a B.S. in Management Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from Northeastern University.

Robert Gerling

Mr. Gerling has over 14 years of experience in hydroponics technology and management, including eight years as the principle of 2005939 Ontario LTD, a commercial hydroponics farm that specialized in cultivating high quality flowering plants for the local garden market.  Mr. Gerling also has six years of hydroponics consulting experience, including hydroponics design, grow room set-up, crop production and indoor pest management.  Mr. Gerling acquired extensive turf care and maintenance experience, as well as pesticide application experience, during his tenure at Design Landscaping of North Vancouver.  Mr. Gerling received a diploma certifying him as a Horticulture Technician from Ontario College at the Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology, where he also accrued 540 hours of practical co-op work experience.  Mr. Gerling received a diploma in Small Business Management from Ontario College at the George Brown College of Small Business.

Rick Ducharme

Mr. Ducharme joined TerraSphere Systems Canada Inc. in August, 2007.  As Drawings and Procurement Manager, he is responsible for developing three dimensional models of individual machinery parts to ensure complimentary function upon assembly, creating working drawings for distribution to suppliers, obtaining supplier quotes, and overseeing the manufacture of all parts to ensure quality.  Prior to joining TerraSphere Systems Canada Inc., Mr. Ducharme was employed as a CAD Manager and Senior CAD Designer at Hansen Industries LTD, where he was responsible for project prioritization and department preparation for the successful ISO 9001:2000 audit.  Mr. Ducharme is certified in Advanced CNC Programming Sheet Metal, MRC Programming Motoman Robots, Panasonic Robot, Laser Operation and Maintenance of Hobart and Lumonics Multi-wave Lasers, and AutoCAD R-13 (Level 1).

Carl MacAulay

Mr. MacAulay joined TerraSphere Systems Canada, Inc. in October of 2004 to direct sales in Atlantic Canada.  Mr. MacAulay has a diverse background in business, and has also been a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 23 years.  While stationed in Vancouver, BC, Mr. MacAulay operated two restaurants and a clothing store, employing over 30 people.  Mr. MacAulay is a graduate of St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB.

Shelli M. Barry

Project Manager/Office Manager

Shelli Barry has been the Project Manager/Office Manager of TerraSphere Systems since the company was formed in 2003, and has also been the Project Manager/Office Manager of ECAP, LLC since 1999 Ms. Barry has more than 12 years of experience coordinating the office functions of environmental and engineering firms.  In her current capacity, Ms. Barry supports management with a variety of project development activities, designs and operates client and project management databases, oversees systems management and handles all accounting functions.  Prior to joining TerraSphere Systems, Ms. Barry worked for TMG/Accounting Solutions - A Staffing Resources Company in Boston.  Ms. Barry holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Catherine Register

Mrs. Register is the Administrative Assistant of TerraSphere Systems Canada Inc., with more than 18 years of office management and customer service experience.  Mrs. Register joined TerraSphere Systems Canada Inc. in 2005, and is currently responsible for accounting functions and processes that including accounts payable and quarterly federal sales tax returns, as well as financials for federal corporate tax returns and SR&ED claims.  Mrs. Register also handles administrative functions, such as responding to phone calls and email and scheduling requests.  Prior to joining TerraSphere Systems Canada Inc., Mrs. Register was a contracted bookkeeper and administrative assistant at All-Round Industries Ltd.  Mrs. Register earned her Administrative Assistant Honours Diploma in 2001 from Sprott-Shaw Community College.
